rally 2017-page-001

Its hard to believe a year has past, 2017 is a big year for Lewis Car Club as it will be the 10th anniversary Rally Hebrides which is once again in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, aiming to add to the already large sum raised by our previous events, the total raised now just about touching the amazing sum of £150,000

This year’s program with Stage and Spectator info, plus driver interviews, is included FREE with every copy of the Events paper. Available in supermarkets, filling stations, etc

For the latest updates and information, check out the Rally Hebrides Facebook page.

We rely upon a small team of Marshals to keep this event running, if you want to help out and get more involved with motorsport then please visit the Marshals Page.

If you’ve never been to Rally Hebrides before, you’re missing out! To give you an idea of what’s on offer, here’s a video from previous year’s events, with huge thanks to the guys at Quantic Media and Corran Media:

This year’s event takes place on the 18th and 19th August, comprising of 8 Special Stages at 4 locations on the Saturday, plus a new stage on the Friday evening at Stornoway Airport.stage route os maps-page-001

Our event is a non-competitive demonstration rally geared towards the maximum enjoyment of Drivers and Spectators, all whilst raising money for a very worthwhile cause.

Spectator ticket options are either £5 per stage at the gates, or alternatively £15 for a full weekend band. Under 16’s are free, but will need to be accompanied by an adult, and still need a ticket.

Tickets are available from our shop on Francis Street, opposite An Lanntair in the old Stornoway Gazette shop, open every day from 10 AM.
Rally Hebrides clothing is also available, Hoodies, T-shirts, Hats and old stock reduced to clear.shop pic

To help ensure the smooth running and safety of the event, a Park and Ride bus service for Spectators will once again be offered, Friday evening NO parking is available at Airport Stage, so a shuttle bus service will be running continually from 7pm on Friday from Smith Avenue/ Nicolson Carpark. Then on Saturday leaving Creed Park in the morning and returning there for the final stage of the day. We will be  dropping off and collecting from the designated Spectator Viewing Areas in each stage.

We are asking for a minimum donation of £3 per seat for this full day/event  service with all proceeds adding to Macmillan Cancer Support’s total; tickets are available in advance at the rally shop, we need numbers to know how many buses we have to find!

The buses will be leaving from the Creed Enterpise Park, Stornoway, HS2 9JN, at 7:30 AM Saturday.

All park and ride information is on the poster below.

The importance of staying in the dedicated Spectator Viewing Areas cannot be emphasised enough, they are designed for your safety, to minimise the inherent risk associated with spectating at a motorsport event. Therefore we ask that you PLEASE stay in these areas, and follow the instructions of our Marshals who will be posted to these areas.

It is strongly recommended to use the bus service available, but alternatively each stage has a Viewing Area that you can come and go from throughout the stage.

Below are the Stage Maps, with each viewing area highlighted.

Additional Spectator Information:

Changeable weather conditions and midges are always a possibility at Rally Hebrides, so it is strongly recommended that spectators bring rain gear and nets/repellent; additionally, wear sturdy shoes, as the viewing areas are on soft ground. Food and toilet facilities will only be available at certain stages, so it is also advisable to take a bite to eat.

Spectator safety receives a huge amount of attention on our part, but it also requires those attending the event to keep themselves safe. It’s recommended to take 5 minutes to watch the following videos on spectator safety:
