Lewis Car Club has been in existence since 1973, with the purpose of promoting motorsport and motoring in general in the Western Isles.
The Club organises a variety of events including cheap and cheerful Motortests, the exciting Drift And Grip all day events, widely enjoyed Production Car Endurance races, Run What Ya Brung drag races, and the annual Hebridean Rally.
Between these latter two events, over £100,000 has been raised for charity since 2011, with over £25,000 donated in 2014 alone; these figures are all the more significant since the club receives no public funding, depending purely upon the time and generosity of members, local businesses and contractors, and the general public!
It is hoped to run a number of exciting new events in 2015, in addition to tried and tested grassroots events such as the competitive Motortests, with several new locations identified that will challenge both driver and machine. There is also the joint LCC/Western Isles Classic Car Club static show planned for the 6th of June, followed by a drag race in the evening, what promises to be a spectacular day!
Everyone is welcome to our events, be it spectators or new members!
Monthly informal meetings are held at our recently redeveloped Creed Park Motorsport Facility, so if you’re interested in motors, come along for a yarn and a cuppa!
